Stools that are noticeably lighter than usual — almost chalky — and may float or appear greasy. - What it suggests:
Possible biliary obstruction, liver dysfunction, or advanced liver disease, all of which can occur with liver cancer.
2. Dark Urine
- Why it happens:
When the liver is damaged, bilirubin (a yellow pigment normally processed by the liver) builds up in the blood. The kidneys try to excrete this excess bilirubin, leading to dark brown or tea-colored urine. - What you might see:
Urine that is darker than normal, even if you’re well-hydrated. It may resemble cola or dark tea. - What it suggests:
This is a sign of jaundice, which occurs when liver function is significantly compromised — a common symptom of liver cancer or other serious liver conditions.
