What Braden has achieved at present makes many people admire his will to live, helping them have more valuable motivation in life.
Braden West, a teenager from Owensboro, Kentucky, was born with a rare skull condition, Pfeiffer syndrome type 2, which causes skull deformities and underdeveloped brain. Braden’s mother was informed of his problem just 2 weeks before he was born.
Despite her son’s strange and unusual appearance, Cheri still loved him very much. The worst thing for the family at that time was that Braden was unlikely to survive more than 18 months, according to the doctors.
However, today, Ms. Cheri is also crying, not because of the fear of losing her child anymore, but because of the happiness with the academic achievements that her child has achieved. On June 6, Braden, at the age of 17, officially graduated from Apollo High School with excellent results, the overall score of 3.8/4 is the number that speaks to all the efforts of the boy who was once considered slow in development.
Cheri told The Epoch Times : “When I saw him walking, the emotions I felt when he was born came flooding back. My mind was filled with thoughts of what he shouldn’t do, how he shouldn’t hold a pencil, talk, see, hear… and yet here we are today.”
To celebrate this milestone in Braden’s life, his parents threw him a live concert featuring one of his favorite musicians, Cam Thompson. Braden described his graduation day as “perfect”. “It makes me feel pretty good knowing I worked hard to get to where I am today because it’s not always easy . ”
