🧪 Homemade Drain and Pipe Cleaner
Ingredients:
- ½ cup baking soda
- 1 cup white vinegar
- 1 pot of boiling water
- Optional: a few drops of lemon essential oil (for fragrance)
🧼 Instructions:
- Boil water: Start by pouring a pot of boiling water down the drain. This helps loosen any grime or grease.
- Add baking soda: Pour ½ cup of baking soda directly into the drain.
- Pour vinegar: Immediately follow with 1 cup of white vinegar. You’ll hear fizzing — that’s the reaction breaking down residue.
- Cover the drain: Use a stopper or a damp cloth to plug the drain. Let the mixture sit for 15–30 minutes.
- Flush again: Finish by pouring another pot of boiling water down the drain to wash everything away.
💡 Optional Tip:
Add a few drops of lemon or tea tree essential oil for a fresh, clean scent and added antibacterial effect.
This method helps:
- Remove grease, grime, and mild clogs
- Eliminate bad odors
- Maintain smooth water flow
