Stir-Fried Cabbage with Garlic Recipe
Ingredients (Serves 2–3)
✅ Main Ingredients:
- ½ medium cabbage (about 300–400g), chopped into bite-sized pieces
- 4–5 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil (vegetable, peanut, or sesame oil)
✅ Seasoning:
- 1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
- ½ teaspoon sugar (optional, enhances flavor)
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce (for umami flavor)
- ½ teaspoon oyster sauce (optional, adds richness)
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional, for aroma)

- 1 dried red chili (for a spicy kick)
- ½ teaspoon chicken powder or mushroom seasoning (for extra umami)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients
- Wash the cabbage thoroughly and drain. Cut into bite-sized pieces.
- Mince the garlic finely for maximum flavor.
Step 2: Stir-Frying the Garlic
- Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan or wok over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and stir-fry for 10–15 seconds until fragrant.
- Be careful not to burn the garlic!
Step 3: Stir-Fry the Cabbage
- Add the chopped cabbage to the pan and stir well.
- Turn the heat to high and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until the cabbage starts to soften.
- Add salt, sugar, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and black pepper. Stir-fry for another 2 minutes.
- If using, add dried red chili for a spicy flavor.
Step 4: Finishing Touches
- Drizzle 1 teaspoon of sesame oil for extra aroma.
- Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
- Stir for another 30 seconds, then turn off the heat.
Step 5: Serve and Enjoy!
- Transfer to a plate and serve hot as a side dish.
- Pairs well with steamed rice, grilled meat, or noodles.
