I froze… HE WAS MY …

World

My mom found a boyfriend. I was so happy for her, and her Aaron seemed like a good man.

But there was one little issue… I had NEVER met him!

Not even seen a photo! My mother’s happiness mattered most, so I stayed out of their private life.

Until ONE DAY… we finally arranged to meet. I was excited and wanted everything to be perfect!

My hands were trembling as I rang the doorbell. “OH MY GOD, YOU’RE HERE!” my mom shouted, rushing to open the door.

But the moment I saw her man. I froze… HE WAS MY BOYFRIEND.

Not an ex. Not a crush. My actual, current, loving boyfriend—Ethan.

He froze too. His smile dropped. He looked like he’d seen a ghost.

My mother was beaming beside him, totally unaware. “Isn’t he handsome?” she giggled, gripping his arm. “He’s been so good to me, sweetie.”

I felt my knees weaken. I managed a tight-lipped smile. “Yeah… very handsome.”

Ethan—no, Aaron—gulped. “Can we talk?” he whispered when my mom turned to get some lemonade.

I followed him to the backyard, heart pounding.

“Explain. Now,” I hissed.

He looked panicked. “I—I didn’t know! I met her on a dating app months ago. She said her daughter was out of town, you never showed me a photo of her, and your mom’s profile only had filtered pics and used her middle name, not the one you always call her!”

I stared at him in disbelief. “So you’ve been dating both of us… at the same time?”

“No! I broke up with her last week when I realized it was getting serious with you,” he said quickly. “I was planning to tell her everything—but then she invited me to dinner and said you’d be coming. I thought I was going to have a heart attack.”

Just then, my mom called from the kitchen: “Dessert’s ready! Ethan—oh, I mean, Aaron, grab the plates?”

We stared at each other. This wasn’t just betrayal—it was a disaster.

What happened next?

Let’s just say the dessert never made it to the table. Because the truth exploded before we could stop it…
