Toasted Bread with Butter Filling Recipe
🧈 Ingredients:
For the butter filling:
- 100g (7 tbsp) unsalted butter (softened at room temperature)
- 2 tablespoons condensed milk (or honey, for a natural sweetness)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- A pinch of salt (if using unsalted butter)
For the toast:
- 4–6 slices of white or sandwich bread
- Extra butter for spreading (optional)
- Sugar or cinnamon sugar (optional topping)
🥣 Instructions:
1. Prepare the Butter Filling:
- In a mixing bowl, add softened butter, condensed milk, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.
- Mix until smooth, creamy, and fluffy using a spoon or hand mixer.
- Taste and adjust sweetness if needed. Set aside.
2. Assemble the Toast:
- Lay out the bread slices.
- Spread a generous amount of the butter filling on one slice of bread.
- Place another slice on top to form a sandwich (optional), or just toast a single slice with butter for open-faced toast.
3. Toast the Bread:
Option A: On a Pan
- Heat a non-stick pan on medium heat.
- Place the bread slice(s) on the pan and toast until golden brown, around 2–3 minutes per side.
- You can add a bit of extra butter to the pan for a richer flavor.
Option B: In a Sandwich Maker or Grill
- Place the bread in a sandwich press and toast until crispy and golden.
Option C: In the Oven
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Place buttered bread on a baking tray.
- Bake for 6–8 minutes or until golden.
4. Serve:
- Optionally sprinkle sugar or cinnamon sugar on top before serving.
- Slice diagonally and serve warm with tea or coffee.
🍞 Tips:
- You can add cheese, jam, or banana slices for variation.
- Use whole wheat bread for a healthier option.
- Store leftover butter filling in the fridge for up to a week.
